Appeal is not necessarily based upon the subject matter of the animation. An evil witch can be just as appealing as a furry kitten. It's all based upon the presentation of the character or animated image. Appeal is also centered around demand and expectations from the audience, and how pleased they are with the animation design or quality. In my opinion, this animation is extremely appealing, based upon the design of the space and characters - specifically the puppy.
